Off-week
Monday - Boring case for PBL.. Last wk, my LO was on some metabolism biochem.. I got sick of it.. and YET this week I chose a similar one except this time was on proteins.. I don't know, my brain just instantaneously went for that. Then lectures & peer group tutorial. Long day non-stop. The evening, didn't even research on LO. Been too occupied with just studying, or rather memorising details for the summative assessmnt of the GI exam on Tues.
.
Tuesday - My half portion of the PBL grp had to go to this private hospital at Greenslopes and we waited there for more than one hour before starting. Waiting & waiting just made me even more nervous. But I guess it wasn't all that bad after that coz we had a substitute assessing registrar whom I'm pleased to say was really2 nice with us & she wasn't as strict as I thought she would be. We were given the chance to examine patients while we were assessed & for the first time when I was doing the palpation bit to this one lady, I could feel the spleen as she had splenomegaly. That was cool, coz I've never felt one before. Anyway, the lady was pleasantly surprised that we knew too much than required.. That was a bonus :D. On the way back to uni, I just learnt that Stones Corner ISN'T actually that far from Uni at all after I passed it. And all this time I actually thought it was far away. Well it seemed to be...... :s. LO research status - NiL.
.
Wednesday- Missed a lecture. Actually one lecture was cancelled (& they put this up on the noticeboard alrdy) so I didn't turn up BUT they on a VERY short notice substituted with another lecture. Damn.. How could they do that?! Oh yea, I was supposed to attend the expert surface anatomy tutorial but again I decided not to coz having done BIOM3002 I assume I'm an expert in this area already. Not. I'll just have to watch that video Kippy gave. The afternoon, I had a recording session for the doctor-patient role. We played the video short after and it totally sucked, at least according to me. I even wrote a list of comments for myself. A few I can mention is that I kept on looking at the TV which was in front of me from time to time. That was hilarious coz I was supposed to focus on questioning the 'patient' hahaha. I also noticed that I kept on looking down & writing which made it seemed as though I've ignored the patient Lol. And yes! I really need to smile!!! Otherwise I won't have patients coming to me in the future! hahaha.... Bottom line- the 'patient' outshone me in that video. Btw, LO research & actually-doing-it status : Worked my butt off til 3 a.m.
.
Thursday - Missed the lectures AGAIN.. But in time for PBL. Luckily I wasn't asked to present my LO. Coz I had know idea how I was gonna present, didn't prepare anything. Gosh, I hated the case this week. Just want to get past that. Anyway, I was glad when the PBLsession ended. Had a short lunch with the mates and off we went to RBH for our Clinical Workshop. Just did all those blood-pressure taking (really bad at it somebody pls teach me), pulse, spirometry blabla. All that went for 3 hrs.. Hitched a ride on a mate's car to go back but we got lost! seriously! Haha.. but ofcourse managed to find our way back.
.
I feel weak and tired and any other words you can insert [here] that actually describe my state. I'm so relieved tomorrow ( I mean later) there's only one lecture and nothing else. This week is totally an off-week for me. I need to catch up a lot especially with the ethics domain slowly coming back again. Argh.. On a happier note, I'm lookin' forward to the cityhunt this weekend.. Everybody loves the weekend!

P/s: Frah suggested me to do a Beyonce concert countdown. Let me just check the calendar on my hp first. Ok, it's 31 days til the concert. That's like in a month! woohoo!
