Brissy...

It’ been a few days (now 2 weeks! I wrote this earlier n just posted it) since I’ve been here…Brisbane. I must say it’s a nice, quiet place but dead at first impression. It’s only until I went to the city at night that it was kinda lively. It’s too early to say much about Brisbane since there are just more to be explored. The first few days we stayed at the Blue house and some of the guys then stayed at Hao’s. It took us a few days to actually find the right home. It was tough even though we came early but luckily the 4 of us guys found a house with a close distance benefit to the uni. Just walk 3 minutes and u’re there. The house we lived in was previously rented by bruneian tenants for a number of years..So it was ok.. I haven’t been online since I moved in here coz there’s no broadband. Now we were thinking of getting one really really soon…There’s tight spending here…I mean I can feel it…The prices of things here are quite pricey..Moreover when you come to think of converting it to B$ and the rent for the next 2 weeks. So life as it has been, has changed. Culture shocks? Not yet…I mean mayb no. Hmm…about the weather.. It’s overall mild cold. I can’t really give a true description since the weather here fluctuates. It can be sunny hot but then the wind can be real real chilly. The coldest is especially at the rivers where we went on a public ferry transport called the ‘citycat’ plus the night time…Too bad no heaters to warm us up in the house. But ofcoz there’s water heater. If that wasn’t included no way we’re gonna stay here if the owner refuses to install one. On Sunday (10/7) Azim n I stayed home, to limit our spending for transport..so we spend the day by cleaning up. Washed our clothes, cleaned our rooms..but that was all done in a short time. The house is clean! There’s nothing else to do..So we ‘jalan kaki’ for about 40 minutes to Taringa where the girls lived temporarily…Oh yea, we also went to watch Fantastic 4 at South Bank..Fortunately we made our student cards, everything pricey seemed to go down by half even the movies but then the price of tickets is still 5.70. Think of dat? Ok..from now on no movies…haha yea ryt. Emotions? Hmm..I’m feeling ok but there are occasional downs- probably thinking of home, sometimes I feel alone even tho I’m not. Limited stuff to spend n do..Now I come to think dat everything is turning into a routine. Let’s just hope I can adapt to this new lifestyle. 25th is the start of semester..at least there’s something to do…STUDY! Haha…We should be enjoying dis…Work hard but play hard… Hm…It’s late now I should be getting some sleep…Chao

Big L n Bon Voyage

Sunday was a long long day, extremely exhausted from the NBT treasure hunt. That was the 1st time, n i must admit it was great fun...couldve been funner if we had actually figured out the riddles. Really mind-boggling but once u know the answer..It is like -ohhh...- n a pissed face, It looked simple. Afrah, fau n I came wt 'make sense' answers but really they still keep our mind questioning whether we were right or wrong...N as it turned out, we were WAY wrong hahaha... Among the clue/riddle: turnover bluff, ans: 317. u know y? coz another word for bluff is 'LIE' n when u turnover the word u get '317' BUT what did we answer? we answered Huaho...y is dat u ask us..Here's our interpretation. We followed the tulip (directions) given n then suppose to find the answer..Then we saw a U-turn (for us it's the turnover) n we saw huaho opposite. Fau came up with the huahua bluff so we tot dat was it.hahaha...wat were we thinking?! ANOTHER embarrassing answer for the question: Silver n gold connected Ans: Jalan Agau since the chemical symbols for both elements are Ag n Au n u combine both. Where did that chem knowledge go i also dunno.hehe. N we came wt the answer Royal Embassy of cambodia just bcoz there was a gate which is silver n gold plated. We felt so much the big L haha :p but nevertheless the experience was great especially when u know u're leaving soon. Trying to have fun as much as possible here. Hopefully if i can come back in July I would want to join again. This time the goal is not set much higher...say the target nxt yr is no.30 hehe......Inspiring eh?

Hmm...now it's Tuesday...1.30+ am....I'm leaving pretty soon yet I'm still packing n went excess..3 boxes have been sealed n wrapped so there's not much i can do about dat. So I had to reduce things in my luggage. The only choice is to give some stuff for my parents to bring. But it feels like u wnt to bring everything. It's like ure not complete even leaving a teeny weeny thing.So here I am taking a break from transferring..Later I have 2 packed in this notebook. I'm not that excited but can't wait to go there...I hope everything will run smoothly. So til then..Bon voyage.I'l continue my posts in the land of OZ..Bon Voyage

Countdown: 3 days...

Somehow there's just a mixed feeling about leaving Brunei and it's gonna be really2 soon.. I'm really anxious and excited ofcoz n cannot deny that..coz I've always wanted to go there...but the other feeling is as if it is nothing special about going there..I don't know..Also I will miss my family but then still gonna see them in December InsyaAllah.. Been hectic as I said these few days..even today. I actually bought (still in making) a pair of specs. Exchange bru for Oz $..Sheesh..sumbody got the 1.29 rate hile I got the 1.31 ( i think).. I also planned to buy a digital camera but not just yet...Maybe tomorrow or the very last minute... This afternoon my friends n I went for a photo shoot. Hope it turns out just fine hehe.. Since there will be few days I will be Brunei, I took the opportunity to have the maximum fun I can possibly get. Tomorrow's gonna be an exciting day (I hope) coz I'm joining the treasure hunt..N inspiringly we set a target of the 10th place or close to that out of 200!..Be optimistic guys!hehe. We didn't prepare as much but I think we shud do jus fine...We hav intelligent heads ryt?haha..Gosh tomorro have to wake up early... N tonyt I didn't watch AF..Went shopping for relevant stuff to bring to OZ from pillows to canned food. Hopefully I can get everything packed by tomorrow but its gonna be a very tiring day...
