Go Socceroos!

Wow last night's match btwn OZ and Japan was awesome! At least in the later of the 2nd half. Japan came with an early 1-0 lead after a rather dubious goal which I can say have sparkled furor among the Socceroo fans (including me haha..). The game was dominated by OZ but it seemed everytime they were inside the Japanese half they always lose their possesion. Plus they did not really convert their chances (Statistics: 22 shots). Then it was a pretty much boring game, I was like why is Cahill or Aloisi or Skoko not in? Then finally, when there's like about less than half an hour or so to go, Hiddink put in Cahill, Aloisi and Kennedy as the substitutes to play upfront. Then the game started to change a bit with both sides attacking each other in a flow. Then the time came, a long throw in front of the goal set the most important chance for OZ to equalise and Cahill did just that. We were like jumping and screaming "Goal!!!" to the top of our lungs in the TV room. When I say we, it's the four of us housemates. Azim, Damit & Ran were also up to watch the game even though they were going to have their exams at 8 that morning. I guess the atmosphere of celebrating was much better than watching alone haha. Then Cahill scored another and a final one by Aloisi.. And I think I was about to lose my voice at that point. All 3 goals in the space of 8 minutes. A really 'miracle' comeback. My eldest sister (who supported Japan) back at home earlier texted me 'Apa ni ketinggalan 1-0 hahaha..' and I texted her back after that everytime OZ scored haha.. I think she was pissed by that haha... I even see some Japanese supporters on my MSN most of whom are pissed too... So there, a historic win for the OZs.. It's a wonderful feeling..Ofcourse much better felt by the locals here.. Imagine it's Brunei..Haha I would be so so so proud..Ok let's leave that aside. Oh yea, I saw the news. There were celebrations throughout Australia, the biggest I think was in Melbourne. How sad of Brissy...Why are you guys not supportive enough?? Haha.. The news showed not as many people were in the bar. Maybe I'm wrong with my assumption. Oh well, I'm just saying... OK then. I end it here.. Go Socceroos!

Surprise nominations..

Big Brother OZ- Wow, tonight's nomination was really a surprise. All three strong contenders to win the whole thing (IMO) were nominated and it seems unbelievable that one would be leaving this Sunday! We'll see how it goes coz Big Bro with all his little twists and that, you'll never know.. I would actually like to see David deducting the three points off himself so that many others as well would be up for evictions. It's just cool to see more people becoming potential evictees.. You could imagine their reactions of one another, it's as if you've nominated your closest friends. Mind me it's got nothing to do with me wanting the televoting company to get extra $$$. If that happens, fortunate for them then. By Sunday, the house will lose one of its strong personalities and I hope the 'safe' housemates would step up to maintain the whole show's appeal. Right this week's nominees...

Frustration in the air

Haha.. I just saw some of what of the Viro exam-takers have to say in the bulletin board. Yeay! I'm not alone.. There are in fact many who think the same way as I do. Here I quote some of what they have said:
..
"That would have to be the worst uni exam I have ever sat. Exams are supposed to test what you know...not what you dont know. Too many questions tested memorisation of specific examples and off-shoot sentences in the lectures. There was minimal testing of understanding or concepts."
..
"I have to agree that was a very poor exam. Some of the questions I dont even remember having read anything about. And some were a little stupid, like the first MC question. "myristoylated" doesnt even appear in the lecture notes (i just found it mentioned once in the revision stuff – which was more in depth than the actual lectures)...and then distinguishing "nucleocapsid protein and capsid protein" ???" - At least somebody's pointed out the 1st MCQ which I also thought was nonsense. Haha! Good on ya mate whoever you are ;D
.
"I must agree, that was a VERY VERY poorly written exam. I was not able to show the amount of knowledge I had gained in this course...information that acually matters. I found all the questions were far far too 'specific' and I felt I was asked to memorise 'little facts' about certain topics, sometimes not even covered in lecutres. we were no tested with things that acually mattered."
.
"Yes... I thought so too ... usually I expect end semester exams to test mainly key concepts, and little tidbits as an aside ... this exam was mainly tidbits, and key concepts as an aside"
.
"Overall I felt the exam did not really assess my knowledge of the course, rather for many questions, the ability to memorise random facts. "
.
And for the record... Here's mine! haha!:
.
"Couldn't agree more.. Some of the questions were not even in the lectures.."
.
Haha.. I was so lazy to write more but I figured I'd still want my opinion taken into consideration! LoL.. Oh Big Bro's Eviction started.. GTG...

Sigh..

Argh.. There goes my 1st exam... That paper just now was tough. Quite disappointing.. Many were just focussed on one lecture and that lecture also happened to provide one of the hardest to understand! Just figures and not much explanation.. I even had a mental block at some stage. All the names of viruses, signalling molecules, genes, which is for which, all mixed up ! My mind also kept on thinking back all the reading (even did it twice) of the lect materials, has it paid off? Couldn't really focus that time. I kept on changing my answers.. Shows my high level of uncertainty..And the fact people leaving off early made me more anxious. Some even left like half an hour after starting (for a 2hr paper). From the looks of it, they are indeed the high-scorers. Oh well.. What to do..
..
I slept after dinner for a few hours just now trying to get away from thinking bout the paper. Then when I woke up, the England-Paraguay game just started. Ran & Damit were rooting for England. I am somehow not that fond of England football team even if they had really good players so I just support the opponent. Ofcourse Paraguay lost but the overall game was also a disappointment to England fans. The next game will be Sweden against Trinidad & Tobago. My favourite to win from this Group B would be Sweden. Go Sweden! Alright I better go the game has started. See ya... By the way, the pictures below, IMO, would be the ones to score (if they do). We'll just have to wait & see if that happens... [ In order: Larsson, Ljungberg & Ibrahimovic)

Very soon! S.O.S.

Wow! Only few hours left til the opening ceremony of the World Cup! And tomorrow's my first exam! Fortunately it's gonna be held at 2.30pm. So I know when I should be there, where (that's important), how- not relevant hehe.. So that's set. What else..Stationery- pen, pencil, pencil leads, eraser, ruler..Oh yea! Student ID! So it's in my wallet-don't forget to bring that. Anything else you guys can remind me by posting in the tag (thanks). I've done my Viro revision but I'm doing a second round just to make sure I can retain as much info as I can.. Sigh~ And oh yea I hate the headaches I've been getting these past few days.. Argh..
2nd thing..I wanna congratulate my sis who received the Sultan's scholarship and due to depart for London this Sept I think (which means we don't get to see each other by then!). I'm sure my parents are proud of her and so I share that too. Well-deserved. Could describe her as a disciplined hard-worker and a pro in managing her time. Seems to work her way. I couldn't agree more of my parents saying that we (siblings) should looked up to her as an example (academically only haha). We could never follow that. We have our own ways haha. Anyway congrats Fitri..I guess that's your b'day present..:p
Man...I'm in the world cup mood.. I've been playing the World Cup songs... You guys should listen to the Shakira- Hips don't lie (bamboo) made esp for the world cup. A really fun song, listen to it when you're stressed..esp after knowing my Cardio prac results- really depressing. I've sent this song to Ehsan this afternoon and she totally agreed with me! We can dance to this song haha! Right, I better head off to my 2nd round revision. See ya!
