Embarrassed

Today something funny happened >_< (if you take it as funny anyway). I was already late for patho lecture but in my mind this was probably just a review lecture ( I thought the last lecture was the last, what was I thinking) so I took my time walking at my normal pace without rushing. My watch showed 8.10 so it wasn't that bad. I arrived at the lecture theatre opened the door and made my way up the stairs with my usual moody morning face. Guess where I was? At the hawken lecture theatre! Haha..! As I was walking, I saw unfamiliar faces, they in turn gave a weird look to an also unfamiliar face. I turned to the screen and saw a slide on bacteria. So I thought it was just another lecture related to Patho. Just at midway up the stairs a girl at the side went "I think you are in the wrong class.." and I, somehow looked puzzled replied, "Do you know where the Pathology lecture is? Coz we used to have it here." The girls in that area shook their heads and giggled. So what was going through my mind? I was like maybe they're in another lecture room and I didn't check for the updates, maybe there wasn't any lecture? I didn't care about people laughing at that time. Anyway as I took off, it instantly caught my mind that it was supposed to be in building 63! How forgetful can I be? haha.. I was like laughing to myself and recalled the girls laughing. Now that made me feel embarrassed based on the fact that I said 'we used to have it here.' It's like if you put yourself into the girl's shoes she would probably think: ' Whatever, we've been having our lectures here since forever~' Oh well, at least I didn't feel embarrassed at all in front of them. I only feel embarrassed to myself and probably you guys since you are reading this. Haha... Anyway, sure it'll become memories to recall for.

Is it winter for real this time?

Brrrr... It's been cold throughout the whole day! Has the season transition taken place? It reminds me when I first stepped into this house. It was really2 cold I had to wear socks, double clothing AND double blanket. It's funny that we can't use heater here and I won't go over that one. The bottom line is we are not allowed to use heaters here.. I even came to a point where I bought that hot-water bag just to get the warmth. That's before I knew the existence of electrical blankets. Speaking of that, I should've bought it last time in Summer. It was really cheap then. I think about $12 at Kmart.

Right now I'm like shivering from the cold. Can't imagine the cold my housemates downstairs are facing. Should be colder due to the floor tiles..Brrr... And oh yea, you tend to be sleepy at these temperatures. I was like sleeping from 7+ til 10 and had my dinner late. Everyone seems to be quiet in the house that they're probably sleeping already. Oh no, I just heard something from downstairs. Ok they're not asleep. Oh I don't know. I have to complete my Viro GBL powerpoint draft by tomorrow but I'm just plain lazy to do it. It's not hard or anything, it's just the extracting info part. I have to do two sections but we are allowed a maximum of 5 slides. So it's something like a summary and summary is not my thing. The websites and all are already opened but just waiting to be read. Haha, actually I told myself to start at 11.30, then I delayed to 12 then 12.30. So I don't think I'll end up finishing it tonight. I'll most likely get it done tomorrow. Haha. That's one problem of mine. Always delaying. I realise that habit but never change. Oh well. As long as I get it done. Night~

Observant

Hmm.. I have nothing to do right now. Maybe heading off to bed in a minute or two after this entry. Just finished my cardio prac revision (well, only read through a bit plus an online discussion session with Leah & Yil) . Anyway, I was just gonna talk a bit about something I found on the final episode of Amazing Race 9. It's funny that you are so observant that you can notice the slightest of details. Have a look at these screen shots.. What can you see?

Yeap, it's our national flag! It only took me a split second to notice that. Yes, our flag really stands out in the midst of other flags. I guess it's the combination of colours (the yellow makes it bright) and the design which makes the flag unique. That reflects how patriotic I am hahaha..(talking crap).

So what's in the next shot? Got it? Ofcourse! It's our very own national airline RBA. Haha. It's amazing that all these little things I noticed happen in that one final episode. Alright then, that's a bit of time-passing and now I'm ready to sleep! Night!

Proud to be an Exudian hehe..

Argh..I can still feel the aching pains from yesterday. My back and legs especially.. My injured knee is not too bad. The only times it hurt were

• When I was peeling off the plaster of the wound, it really hurt big time! Something like waxing I presume haha.. Probably because I peeled it off really quickly. Gosh it was that bad at that one moment. Haha.. The wound was reddish-black.
• When water touches the wound area during shower. It wasn't that bad after that coz I got used to it.

Anyway, that's not the whole point of this entry. We had the netball tournament yesterday. We were kinda in the 'tough' group i.e. with S'pore, Centro & Cobras. The other group had only three teams-UQJ, Phunky Monkees & the M'sian team (who happened to win the whole thing-they were super good considering they are actually a REAL netball team). Our team (it's EXUDAS) kicked off the game against S'pore. Yea they were all girls but they were rough (that's when most of us got the minor injuries haha). Pushing here and there.. The match ended with us losing 2-4, it was a close one though. At that point I thought we needed to win the remaining two matches in order to stand a chance to advance through to the semis. We kept our hope up. Then we went up against Centro with a satisying win: 4-1. The last of the preliminary round was against Cobras. To be honest, I was really nervous for this game especially at 2-2. Somehow, we kept our game and scored an additional two. Match ended 4-2. So we finally got the two wins but it was still uncertain whether we would reach the semis. Our advancement would solely depend on the S'pore-Centro match. We gave our utmost support to Centro- cheering & shouting. The team also had their own crowd of supporters so the combined effect was even a louder. Although Centro were booted out after their two games their spirit hadn't worn off, they played with motivation but although they lost in the end, they've actually kept the scores close. At that time, I knew we had made it through but just needed the confirmation. And as it turned out we did! Phew~ A sigh of relief. So bravo! An achievement! Congrats to my teammates.. :) All the practices have paid off. And also thanks to the two teams which have contributed to our success. Let me explain why. Cobras beat S'pore with a huge score difference and Centro kept on scoring against S'pore to keep their score difference close. In the end, Exudas had a difference of +3 and S'pore 0 (Source from Damit hehe) so we went through!

Unfortunately being second in the group (after Cobras), we have to meet with the M'sian team (1st in their group). Here's the point of our breakdown haha. The opposing team hardly had a hard time against us. It's as if it was a whole different level of game to us. The first half they already gained a two-digit scoreline ( I don't remember coz I didn't care). Anyway, we managed to pull TWO back and that's what matters the most haha. Obviously we lost but the more important thing was taking back the experience against a good team. The second semi-final match was between Cobras & Phunky Monkees where Cobras won a close 2-1. So it was a final btwn M'sia & Cobras. I thought the same thing would happen again against M'sia but how wrong I was. All the Bruneian crowds cheered together to support the Cobras and I think that was the driving motivation for the Cobras. They had a good lead of 2-0! That was really surprising..We were ecstatic.. They could actually win this game looking at the way they played. You could even see the M'sian team to be a little inconsistent than their previous matches. But the M'sian team lifted their game the 2nd half and caught up to beat the Cobras with a really close scoreline 7-6. Really close..Sigh.. Anyway congrats to Cobras for posing a threat/challenge to the opposing team and also for being second. Overall, it was a good tournament. To my teammates, that was a good one we have. We always have next year. So set your objectives! Another step up. We're going for the finals! Hehehe..

P/S: I felt a lil bit humiliated after that throwing of ball to the b****y centre girl haha.. No big deal actually.. You see a lot of b****ing in sport competitions and that's just the nature of it. In the end you shake hands with the spirit of sportsmanship ( I don't know if that's always true haha). Hmm and also, I didn't actually hear the crowd singing (maybe of teasing?) about me (GA). Haha that's funny but who in the world cares. At least I have a moment of fame ;)

Not to be..

First thing, as it turned out my all-time favourite team Arsenal had lost in the final. It's kinda disappointing and frustrating actually. They were ten men down so early but amazingly grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first half. At that point I was hopeful but until those two opposing goals it was just not to be. Arsenal's dream shattered and so was mine :(. Ofcourse people would say, you always have next year or the year after that and so on but with the likelihood of Henry moving to another club (and some more experienced players), it seems although not impossible, most unlikely. It would've been a great moment if they had won..Haiya..Sigh.. It was damn close. Anyway, it's only a game..haha.. See how much a game can affect you..I wonder what's happened to SZ..He didn't turn up for lectures (just assuming coz haven't seen him around, lol).. Has the game really gotten into him? Well IF it did, get over it! Haha...

Now into these reality TV shows.. Amazing Race 9 has come to an end and yes my favourite team -the hippies- won overall...Weeha! I have this habit of picking a team(or a singer as in AI) early in the season and give my support all the way til the end. It happened first time for this one.. Now into AI, the top 2 results! Yes, Taylor's in.. and surprisingly Kat joins him too. I would've thought Elliot making it through but again it was not to be.. Not that it bothers me but I thought that he was more deserving. O yea, for the first time ever, they revealed the percentage of votes. Imagine the differences between 33.06%, 33.26% and 33.68% out of millions of votes?! That is so incredibly close so people have to realise that it was already a huge achievement just to reach top 3. Some fans could hardly believe the figures and it was the nature for them to spark some conspiracy theories about this and as I read from the forums, there have been a lot of contestant-bashing going on. I even posted some words of defence for the singers hahaha. Anyway, expect a great finale episode next week.. Good thing this is gonna end before the exam period which gives me more time to revise on my upcoming exams. Tomorrow's a big day, we're gonna compete in the BSS netball tournament. So hoping for a great game. Are you ready guys?? Go.... Exudas!!

Long Day, Gunners vs Barca

Gosh I'm so freaking tired right now. It's been a long day. Had my Viro prac exam just now. We had to start late coz the person with the lab keys was not there on time so we had to wait for the security. We ended up starting late, no briefings whatsoever. Anyway, the paper looked Ok but I think I somehow screwed it coz I know I could've done better. There was so much to answer that no checking could be done. I managed to 'answer' most, yeah just filling the paper with ink probably with meaningless answers. Some I just left blank coz I totally had no idea- 'What's the use of acetone in the immunoblotting?'. How the hell am I suppose to know, it wasn't even in the lab book! Oh well, as the saying goes 'What's done cannot be undone' Hahaha (whose quote ah?). Then at 9+, had to give my urine sample for the control at the Physio lab ( I HAD to be the volunteer haha) so I turned up for the Patho lecture 20+min late in which I hardly listen :S.

Then at 10, the Bruneian Group F of Cardio had the diuretics experiment. As a volunteer, I had to take samples of my urine every 20 minutes after taking some testing drug. 20 minutes! That's inconvenient haha! Ofcoz, with drinking in between to prevent myself from getting dehydrated. My job was consistent, measure volume and pH while the others rotate to get the feel of handling other measuring equipments. It was important to know all coz this is what's gonna be examined next week. What?! Next week?! Sigh :S. So the whole thing went on until just after 1. Damit, Ran & I were late for our anat prac but I had forgotten my labcoat & safety goggles so I had to rush home. Imagine what I did? I took my sweet time resting, eating and had a bit of surfing. Turned up to the lab by 2. We ought to finish the abdomen section by today & move to the pelvis dissection but we were too slow just by the fact that we didn't know what to do next. Anyway, the strong smell from the cadaver indeed gave me a headache which don't seem to wear off until now. Yea as I'm typing this I'm having a chronic headache.

Then had a one hour break. Went home AGAIN. I forgot my Patho assignment paper. Then at 5 Patho tutorial. I was so damn sleepy. My eyes were like trying to shut from time to time but I just had to resist it being aware of the 'I'd-rather-have-my-beer-at-home' lecturer who seemed to be staring at me everytime I tried to sleep. Actually, I'm gonna sleep after I have dinner. Later at 4.30 am there's gonna be the Arsenal-Barcelona Champ league final match. So looking forward to it. SZ's gonna sleep over tonight coz he's gonna be my counterpart for this coz we are definitely Arsenal fans! Yea! Later promises a good game. Hope so.. It's funny we actually planned to buy sodas and chips. Damit even came up with the idea to cook fries. Haha is this gonna be some kind of party. And oh yea to my fellow housemates, be warned coz this house is gonna vibrate to the max. Haha no lah..Just hope you can tolerate the noise if there's any. Hmm..what else. Oh yea, this match is gonna depend so much on captain Thierry Henry. I think there's too much pressure on him but I hope he'll deal with it well and perform well. And I expect to see some goals from other team mates. Anyway, fingers crossed for the later match. For now, cya.

Out of boredom

Just came back from uni after three lectures.. Now back home trying to sit back & relax.. What better way to spend your free time? It should be revision! Yeah I know, but not just in a mood yet. As I've said earlier, got an early prac exam this Wednesday. I've e-mailed the lecturer and he agreed to give back our prac reports & books with feedback which I will be collecting later after 3 this afternoon. Then I would start reading!

Anyway, just out of boredom, I was playing my mp3s when I remembered the 4 OZ idol girls would be doing their concert tour around OZ. So I searched through the internet to find more info about it. In fact, there's a single release for this. It's a cover version of Donna Summer's 'This time I know it's for real' by what they call The Young Divas (No, they're not in a group or releasing any album). The release was recent, I think it was last last week. I downloaded the song and find it really catchy. It really sounded 70's or 80's..which makes sense IT IS from those years..So guys, if you don't know, you should have a listen. Makes you wanna dance! Haha... Enjoy...

Over and done for now; Encores

Phew, it's been three long days..trying to finish up all four viro assignments and the patho prac book. It's a good thing I've completed the CAL earlier with only little to do left. I did my patho late last night so I didn't even get to write up for my protease project which meant I had to do on the day of due itself. Well, as it turned out to be, everything is done! Although the report for the project was not that well written, just needed to get it done with. The time of due was at 4pm and I only finished at 3.40 somewhere around that time. So I had to compile and print quickly before rushing off to Uni (from home). I ended up handing it in ten minutes earlier..another phew. Now I'm relieved and can now gasp a bit of fresh air. There are some more ahead but at this point I need a break. Next wed I have Viro prac exam- now, considering our prac books are given in, how the heck are we suppose to revise from?, then the following week I got a Cardio mastery test. Then Viro GBL (it never seems to end argh..) and finally patho assignment.

Hmm..I spent some time sleeping earlier tonight coz I was so tired...that explains why I'm not sleeping now. Well I watched the BB Friday Night Live ( that annoying guy won..haha :p), then watched Amazing Race 9 (yay! my team of choice went first for this episode and going through final 3). I couldn't get enough so I also watched Desperate Housewives which I have left unwatched for quite some time..I've downloaded the latest of LOST but I guess I'll save it for tomorrow. Coz there's nothing good on TV on Saturdays.

Nearing to the AI finale, somehow my interest for this show has gone up. Gonna miss it. Feels like the very 1st episode was like only as far as a month ago. The finale will be in 2 weeks. Speaking of AI, the top 12 album as they do every year will also be out in the same week (23rd May). I'm looking forward to it. Even if I can't get hold to this album, I hope that the songs would be uploaded somewhere on the net. Really want to listen to the recorded versions which should sound more 'perfect' than the ones performed in the show. I browsed thru the Amazon website and had a look in the list of tracks. They sure have chosen their best songs. However, I couldn't find songs that they sing together. I personally think that should be included like in Season 4. Anyway, this season's album is called Encores..

Then there were 3!

Yay! So-called shock elimination. But I'm just glad Chris is out! My favourites are actually in the top 3! Just hope the order is right- Taylor, Elliot and Kat. Can't wait for next week. I'm actually downloading Amazing race & LOST. Everything's approaching finale...How sad...haha...

I'm making this short since I haven't completed my assignments! Just one more! And it's 2.30am already. Ryt peeps cya!

AI top 4! For your info!

Wah... It's the season again when I don't put any entries in a long time...Actually I haven't got much to say. Just out of boredom (before I continue again with my Viro assignments & reports), I'd like to announce the top 4 of AI5 for those of you who don't know haha... I heard the mp3s provided by a website and I'm still waiting to download the whole episode. The top 4 theme was Elvis. Overall those 4 ppl did rather well..I'm actually rooting for Taylor to win- he did the 'jailhouse rock' and a slow number-'In the ghetto' this week. He did well (duh haha) coz I feel that this is somehow his genre. I actually wanted him to do 'My blue suede shoes' like the one performed by Emily in Oz idol 3. Elliot, the underdog, stepped up and showed off more of his powerful vocals singing 'If I can dream' & 'trouble' (actually week to week he dominates the vocal part IMO), and somehow praised. It might just be him who will end up in top 3, so fingers crossed. I liked Katharine but to me she's inconsistent, sometimes good sometimes just hate it. But I saw a short clip of hers doing a dance for the 'Hound dog/All shook up' medley song. Usually she would just do songs which just portray her vocals only but this time she really had fun. Kudos for that. Now Chris, good vocals but bland (to me)..He's in fact the chosen one to win the title but I don't think so..Although I liked the idea of him belting out songs but it seems like he's always screaming/shouting whatever you think it is. But I must admit he does really well in rock songs.. This week he did 'A little less conversation'- he had the right keyof the song but the stage presence was boring and one of my favourite songs from Elvis-'the suspicious minds'. My personal favs as you can see are Taylor, Elliot and Kat. But my predictions is that Kat will go home just because Elliot stepped up & she had forgotten a lyric which might cost her the elimination. Taylor & Chris have huge fanbases but it depends whether they are being voted or not. So who will drive through the top 3. We'll know by tomorrow!!
