Sydney baby!

Hi guys.. I'm back in Brunei since last Monday and it does feel good to be back home.. I notice some changes (like DQ & Jollibee along Jln Muara) but overall the environment still feels the same. It's as if I never missed Brunei coz it's always been with me all the time.

Anyway, just before I got back from Brisbane, my family and I went to Sydney for 3 days. From my 1st impression as we got off from the airport, the place was really old and dirty. But as we reached the CBD, Darling harbour and Opera house, it was a really beautiful place. 3 days? Not enough. I hope to go there again next time.. And that time I must climb up the harbour bridge. Should be a fantastic view from up there. We stayed in a 5-star hotel (nada jua usul 5-star, no wonder quite cheap for a 5-star) in the heart of the city. VERY easy access to all the interesting places. So all we did was just wander around, sight-seeing and ofcourse taking pictures.

Oh yea, we also bought dozens of the famous Krispy Kreme doughnuts (not sold in Bris). Yum2..

Graduands to graduates

Wow, love the feeling of just 'graduated'.. Here's how it went. During my turn to receive my cert, it felt like I was between nervous and calm. Nevertheless, I was still excited. It's like I couldn't wait to reach for my cert. But the best part (for me) was just being in that grad gown. I don't know any words to describe the feeling. Anyway, the ceremony went on long, calling out each ppl's name. So that was about it. Other than that, there were also speeches- some inspiring ones by a lecturer and a best student (I think). Oh yea, that girl (best student), I thought she was particularly good in delivering her speech but sadly a lot of ppl didn't laugh to her jokes. I felt a bit sorry for her. I can sense this coz I might have experienced this as well.. haha... I didn't laugh to much coz I followed suit others :D. Just an appreciating grin might just do it.

Refreshments- Only drank water. They did provide tea, coffee, alcohol but no fruit juice. Too bad. But the custard tarts were yummy but I only had one as I had to rush off to search my family. Sia2pun. haha. And yea.. I almost missed out the group photo.. Phew~ hahaha.. Hey, I can't afford to miss that one guys. Then we queued to take the studio photo. It was really long and it was past four and by right I should have already returned the gown. Luckily I still can claim my refund (phew). So as it turned out, didn't really take that many photos with that gown on. But a few will do I suppose.. Most probably I'll buy the on-stage one that one photo company took.. That's a more worthwhile photo.

I was just watching this OZ national swimming competition by chance on Channel 9 and it was showing the ladies final breaststroke. When they showed the winner (L. J.- also an Olympic champion & world record holder) it suddenly struck me that somehow, somewhere I've seen her before. Her face was really familiar. Then it came to me that she actually resembled this girl from my SOCY tutorial group. They definitely look alike- short hair, talk the same but I'm not that sure. But when you come to think of it, it could possibly be her since she's from Qld and to narrow it down also from Brisbane. Is it just me trying to assume things? Maybe & maybe not. Just some random thoughts :D

Wow, I accomplished one major thing today.. I cleaned the toilet! As of now, the whole unit in general is still in a mess but I'll work on it just in time before my family comes over. In the afternoon, went to play a new game of softball with the rest of the bunch. Haha, we are so into many games nowadays.

I think I had my first 'nasi' meal after more than one week. I've been surviving the holidays only on noodles and pastas, mostly on those IndoMies. I never had breakfast, rarely had lunch and only had dinners so I'm almost certain with an empty stomach during the daytime. It's tough when you get all lazy, you end up not eating. Well somehow just now I got the energy to prepare a rice meal. Made Black Pepper Beef and Stir fried sayur Choy Sam (Don't know what u call it, so let's name it like that) to add to the rice. Only satisfactory..

Entertainment update: Carrie Underwood snagged five awards in the Billboard Music Awards 2006. Last year she walked away with three awards. This year, she even won the 'Album of the year' award beating the likes of Nickelback and High School Musical. Good on her.. I'm sure she'll get better and better.. And she's becoming more beautiful by the day. Few weeks ago, she's also won some other awards in the AMA and CMA. It might just be her year. Her album 'Some Hearts' is currently on the top spot in the Billboard Country Charts and has been there for quite a while. Go Carrie go!

A new order begins..

Didn't know that the next Harry Potter movie will be next year.. The sequel continues yet again.. The fifth one is entitled the order of phoenix... This is a must-see movie premiering mid-July next year. Still a long way to go but you'll find that time really does fly.. In the teaser trailer I noticed a number of drastic changes. Other than Harry's new look (his hair in fact), there's something obviously different. Few of the scenes are like in the modern world, where they flew around you know all those tall buildings, cruise ship etc. I know they are actually in the modern era already but before this the whole thing usually takes place in the Hogwarts magical world. Perhaps Harry was trying to save the 'real' world? Haha lame.. Honestly I don't know.. Haven't read the book yet.. So I haven't got the slightest idea. Therefore I must watch to find out.. Can't wait..

Hi guys.. how y'all doin'? I'm feeling a bit sick.. Just a bit. Not the right time, not the right time.. Hopefully it wears off very soon.. It's probably the weather, it's been rather erratic lately.
